Football – Jacksonville State @ Georgia Tech

Yesterday was a busy day with the regular start of college football.  I shot two games: Georgia Tech-Jacksonville State and also Alabama-Virginia Tech.  First up was Georgia Tech vs. Jacksonville State over at Bobby Dodd Stadium.  Jacksonville State will probably also have a strange, warm spot in my heart since they were the closest college to the paper I interned at (The Anniston Star).

Unfortunately for them however, their starting quarterback had been suspended from the game so their already slim chance at being competitive drained away completely.  As expected, Georgia Tech steamrolled them, but to JSU’s credit, they did get Tech to fumble 3 times.  Granted, its 9 less than they had during their spring game, but still.

Super set. Really love the shot of Dwyer going airborne – was watching from the North endzone upper deck and saw him get flipped over.

Always like tight horizontal crops on football for some reason – especially when you get two players knocking pads and helmets. Really shows the force and power of the game.
