Travel: Wyoming [Pt. 1]

Sunday morning I boarded a flight from Atlanta that would ultimately lead me to Jackson, Wy.,  for the Fall Photography at the Summit workshop hosted by Richard Clarkson. After checking out the first day orientation type sessions, some new friends and I decided to see what photos we could make before we lost the sun.

While driving north from downtown Jackson we spotted the sun bursting through some clouds and catching some smoke in the air from a near by controlled burn.  We pulled over and shot that for a few minutes before heading another mile north and seeing somewhere around 50 photographers trying to shoot some moose that were eating.

The scene made me imagine what paparazzi are like, except in this case the subjects probably didn’t think anything of all the people taking their photo.  It was kind of insane though. I even saw one guy shooting photos with his iPad.
