A few weeks ago the AJC sent me out to the Studio Movie Grill in Roswell to cover a meetup of the Atlanta Boomers Meetup Group. This group of middle-aged women hang out together on a regular basis and this time were going to see “The Help.” I was tasked with getting photos of the ladies once they had been sat in the theatre (re: no light). Luckily, my 35 f/1.4 and the ISO 6400 capabilities of my 5DmII let me shoot and get results that weren’t too noisy to publish. Some people may ask why I didn’t use a flash. The main reasons were that the walls were black and the ceiling was high, so nowhere to bounce the light. I could have used direct flash, but the results look more offensive than using a high ISO.
