Last Saturday the AJC asked me to shoot a Habitat for Humanity build for a story they were doing about housing development. The shoot went really well, and I was quite happy with how the photos came out. Sometimes the light, backgrounds and environment all just work in your favor. This was one of those times. I tried to use the framing of the house to frame the workers and provide layering in my compositions. I also used a shallow depth of field to blur out the backgrounds enough so that they wouldn’t compete for the viewers attention.
