Yesterday I had three assignments for the AJC, one of which was to shoot “The Great Urban Race” in Downtown Atlanta at Sidebar on Poplar Street. The event, which was a huge scavenger hunt around the city, involved teams (2 people per) who had to come dressed in costume with a theme. Some of the costumes were pretty amusing.
I got there early and shot the teams as they were registering/getting ready, through them getting their clues and trying to figure them out, and finally as one of the teams hit one of the locations on their list. I asked the person in charge where I should go to get people knocking off an item and she said Rira Irish Pub in Midtown. I got over there and not even 10 minutes later the first team showed up to do an Irish jig. It was a strange/interesting event to say the least.
